FOOD AND RESTAURANTS
Umbrian food is a fabulous mix of roast meats cooked with herbs in wood ovens, goat’s cheese in a hundred different varieties, mushrooms and truffles. We supply a full list of restaurants, bars, bakeries, food shops, markets, and local honey and olive oil producers in the region. WINE TASTING AT THE VINEYARDS
Umbria has a great selection of wines such as the fabulous reds (Sangrantino) of Montefalco and the Rubesco Riserva from the vineyards of Lungarotti. COOKING COURSES
We can arrange cooking courses with local cooks and for more specialized lessons there is Stefania Baroncini, an Italian food historian and cook, who teaches courses in regional Italian cooking.
LOCAL ARTISTS
Jean Tori – The artist in resident on the property, paints with tempera on hand made mulberry paper. Her studio is on the Caiporri property. www.jeantoriartwork.com
Elio Mariucci – Painter and furniture designer. He reassembles old wood and transforms it into hand painted furniture. www.legnoecolore.com

Massimo Pierucci – Bronze sculptor who still casts in the lost wax method.
Laura Bradley – Creates mosaics from raw materials and art pieces. Her works of art range from walls to gates to framed works.
ART TOURS AND ITINERARIES
Specialized art history tours and itineraries can be organized whether you want to see a particular city or monastery or follow the art of Piero della Francesca and Giotto. We have lists of all the museums, well known and off the beaten track, such as two of our favourites, The National Art Gallery of Umbria in Perugia, and the Burri museums at Città di Castello.
SPORTS
Running, walking and cycling routes around Caiporri are available. Horseback riding lessons can be organized. See the Italian Alpine Club of Città di Castello website: www.caicastello.it
GOLF COURSES
Caiporri is located near three golf courses. The first, at 25 km from Caiporri, is the Antognolla Golf Course that has an 18-hole course (mainly par 3 holes). The one near Perugia is also an 18-hole golf course, and the other, near Città di Castello, is a 9-hole course
SHOPPING
A list of shops including everything from Umbrian clothes designers, to Umbrian linen fabrics, designer outlets, antique shops, furniture makers, artisans and ceramics is available at Caiporri.Two of our favourite shops are “Atena” – handmade knitwear; and “Ottica Anania” for amazing sunglasses.
